Be Prepared
What to Bring to Your Office Visit
Have you decided that bankruptcy may be right for you? When you work with Haven Law Group P.C., you will be able to retain the representation of dedicated Hampton bankruptcy attorneys and rest assured that your case is in good hands. We are proud to provide 25 years of collective legal experience to clients.
Our team not only offers committed representation and legal counsel throughout the entire bankruptcy process, but we also offer trusted post-bankruptcy services such as rebuilding credit through our free credit repair program.
When you call Haven Law Group P.C., you can schedule a free case evaluation, in which you will get the opportunity to speak with a trustworthy bankruptcy attorney. This in-office consultation usually lasts around one hour and will provide you with all the information you need to be able to move forward with your case.
During this free initial consultation, we ask that our clients provide the last paystub that they received as well as the last paystub received of each adult that lives in the same household. If you own a home, make sure to bring your last mortgage statement(s). Once you retain our services, we will also ask you to bring the following documents in as well, so we can best serve your particular case.
Simply take a deep breath, gather the necessary information listed below, and bring your case to us so that we can help take the burden off of your shoulders:
- Divorce decrees or separation agreements
- The last six months of paystubs
- Records of deeds, deeds of trust and mortgage statements
- The last two years of taxes, including W-2, 1099 and K-1 forms
- A list of any creditors that were not listed on your credit report (we may be able to pull this for you)
- DMV auto loans or transcripts, including the last car loan statement
- If you happen to self-employed, make sure to get copies of monthly profit and loss statements for at least the past six months
- Bank, retirement, life insurance or investment account statements
- Family trusts and prenuptial agreements if you have any
At the initial consultation, we will ask you to complete an asset worksheet. This worksheet will provide us with valuable information regarding your income and the debt that you have accrued. Based on the findings in the information that is provided to us, we can begin to determine which chapter of bankruptcy may be best for you and your family and ensure that your investments are protected.
